Should I switch off the power before the electrician arrives?
Switch off the affected circuit at the fuse box if you know which one it is, and plug nothing back into it. In case of smoke, a burning smell or contact with water, switch off the main breaker and wait in another room.
Why does the trip switch cut out again straight away?
An appliance or a circuit still has a current leak. Resetting over and over repairs nothing and wears out the protection. Unplug every appliance on that circuit, reset once, then let an electrician find the cause.
Will the electrician replace a whole fuse box?
